Airstrikes on ISIS Somalia

On 12th February, 2025 at approximately 21h00, fighter jets from international allies supporting Puntland in the eradication of terrorism targeted two locations that were being used as operational bases by terrorist groups. One of these sites was being prepared for another attack attempt, while the other was a meeting point for the group.

Monitoring had been ongoing regarding activities in the vicinity of Togga Jeceel, specifically in the Marshed Valley, which serves as the main base (Cascaso) used by the terrorists. This location was successfully targeted.

Another airstrike took place at Malabley Gorge, situated between Gaatir Oodan and Shebaab. This site was one of the key storage facilities of the terrorist group, which had been under assessment for the past 48 hours.

In the Marshed Valley, terrorist leaders, believed to be strategizing their response to recent setbacks, had gathered at a specific location, which was subsequently struck.

The full extent of the damage is still being assessed. However, the majority of those targeted were foreign operatives involved in international crimes and under surveillance.

Yet much of this capability rests on platforms developed, financed, and controlled by external partners, leaving coastal states exposed to shifting geopolitical winds.
